Here’s some favourite images from a recent maternity session.

Cherie contacted me some time ago about photographing her bump and was quite precise about what she wanted. She definitely didn’t want the usual cliched type shots that most photographers do and had put a lot of thought into getting something different including having a dress specially made for the occasion. We decided on a location session, just a few hundred yards walk from my studio and opted to do this quite early in the morning, around 9am. I knew at this time that if the sun came out it would be quite low and would give me great directional light and some flare. As you can see here we were really lucky with the most amazing light and we couldn’t have planned it better. It was also very cold and frosty morning and Cherie and her husband Warren deserve great credit for bearing up to this without warm clothing. Fortunately we had time to go back to my studio to thaw out and then take a few more inside. A really enjoyable session, something different to the norm and I’ll be looking forward to photograph them again with their new addition in the next few weeks.
