Ben and Martha are getting married next month and I’ll be doing their wedding photography at Wokefield Park in Mortimer, Berks. For all my couples I include a complementary engagement session as an opportunity to get to know each better.  So hopefully on the wedding day itself  they’ll be a little less camera shy.

Ben and Martha chose to have their session in one of their favourite locations on the banks of The Thames in Henley. As you can see we had some bright sunny weather with a thin layer of snow as well. This was a real fun and relaxed session despite the cold and we’re now both looking forward to their wedding next month and hopefully warmer weather. Cherie contacted me some time ago about photographing her bump and was quite precise about what she wanted. She definitely didn’t want the usual cliched type shots that most photographers do and had put a lot of thought into getting something different including having a dress specially made for the occasion. We decided on a location session, just a few hundred yards walk from my studio and opted to do this quite early in the morning, around 9am. I knew at this time that if the sun came out it would be quite low and would give me great directional light and some flare. As you can see here we were really lucky with the most amazing light and we couldn’t have planned it better. It was also very cold and frosty morning and Cherie and her husband Warren deserve great credit for bearing up to this without warm clothing. Fortunately we had time to go back to my studio to thaw out and then take a few more inside. A really enjoyable session, something different to the norm and I’ll be looking forward to photograph them again with their new addition in the next few weeks.

Here are some favourites from a recent engagement session I did for Maegan and Gareth. Its not long now to their big day – 11 November in fact, 11/11/11. You can’t have an easier date to remember than this ! Anyhow I’ll be doing their wedding photography at Bluebells restaurant in Sunningdale, one of my favourite venues. These shots were taken primarily in our garden studio as the weather so good not to mention the beautiful autumn colours as well.
